There is a never ending discussion about what software really is. The discussion takes many forms, but mostly boils down to ‘is software art or engineering?’. While I (wisely / cowardly) don’t take a particular stand in the discussion, I do wonder what our clients think of it. Do we get paid for art or engineering? I am sure this approach to the topic will not end the discussion completely and that’s fine. The one thing though that both true art and true engineering do have in common is value. And to release that value it needs to be delivered. And that exactly is what our job is all about: delivering.
