At Avisi, because we like to stay sharp and have fun, we organize what we call ‘techdays’ every month.

The goal is to create a relaxed setting where we can all learn about and/or share new found technologies, techniques or methods. We either have speakers coming in or one of us does the presentation and every member of the team can submit ideas for potential techdays.

Techdays are on ‘Avisi’s time’ (vs. on employee’s private time), starting sometime after lunch. We always have a break about halfway through to enjoy some delicious pizza and ice cream, so people do go home a little later than usual - but their minds are as full as their bellies…

The events usually consist of a relatively short presentation followed by a hands-on session where we try and implement and/or apply whatever it is we just learned. It’s really a great opportunity to share our passion for development, learn something new and have fun with our fellow software engineers.
